I was recently asked to write a piece about my path to publishing for Steven Capp’s blog. I have never met Steven in person, but our paths crossed while commenting on a Facebook writer’s thread. My guest post covers my many mistakes, lessons learned, and hopefully eases the path for others – even if it’s only a schadenfreude thing.
A quick bit about Steven. He’s a Sergeant in the Illinois Army National Guard, a reader of science fiction & fantasy, and a writer. Steven’s blog is geared toward unpublished writers and those very early in the publication process. He focuses on both the process and the business of writing. In addition to his own thoughts he also features guest blogs from authors, marketers, reviewers, etc. If they’re not careful even more seasoned writers might learn a thing or two.
I originally attempted to reblog this post, but managed to foul that up. Basically, the reblog went through my old website, which is forwarded to this one, but doesn’t accept new posts. The net result, the reblog seems to have vanished in the ether. In an attempt to help my fellow veteran and any budding authors who read my blog (not to mention provide some humor to others) I’ve included a link to the post here Path to Press. I did share the direct link in several groups, so please accept my apologies if you’ve already read my guest post.
I hope you enjoy it and that the New Year brings you continued success and joy.
As always thanks for reading.
Armen
PS In a shameless plug, Warders Book 3 – The Dragon’s Den is coming out in early 2016. Click the link for details. I’m still looking for beta readers (sadly no money is involved but, you’ll get a thank you in the acknowledgements section of the book). If you’re interested, please let me know.
